Evaluation of optical sensors
Optical sensors can be used to measure a wide range of physical quantities such as tension, pressure, temperature, refractive index, etc. Since they are insensitive to electromagnetic interference and enable non-contact as well as non-destructive examinations, optical sensors are used for the monitoring of buildings and technical facilities as well as in chemical and biological analysis. With an innovative approach, optical sensors can be evaluated electronically and even connected wirelessly. This paves the way for a distributed, decentralized and radio-based sensor network without limitations due to fiber cabling in mobile and stationary applications.
