Intelligent Automation Systems
About us
The former Institute for Process and Production Control Engineering (IPP) at Clausthal University of Technology was founded in 1991 by Prof. Elzer and until 2004 dealt with issues relating to the human-machine interface and virtual and computer-augmented reality. Today it is part of the Faculty of Mathematics/Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering.
With the appointment of Prof. Zirn to the Chair of Automation Technology and Electronics, the focus of the institute's research and teaching has shifted towards device technology, control technology and control engineering issues in production automation.
The IPP has various engineering tools for modeling and simulating production machines, measurement equipment for testing machine tools and robots as well as various modern development environments for electronic assemblies, software and real-time systems - and an electric vehicle.
