Dr.-Ing. Stephan Beitler

Stephan Beitler was born in 1980, in Magdeburg, Germany. He received the Dipl.-Ing.(FH) degree in automotive engineering from the University of Applied Sciences Zwickau in 2007. Since September 2008 he is working at the Institute for Electrical Information Technology at the Clausthal University of Technology. His main research activity is longwall automation. In this area his activities focus on control strategies for automatic coal cutting in automated shearer faces and automated plow faces.

As the faculty advisor of a Formula Student Electric racing team he is also working on one of the major topics in automotive engineering, electric mobility. In addition to these two main fields of activity he is also conducting work in the area of active vibration control.
