Collaboration with the Sichuan University

The Sichuan University SCU and the Clausthal University of Technology TUC run a cooperative study program Electrical Engineering. Therefore, there is a regular exchange between the engineering schools of SCU and TUC. The College of Electrical Engineering at SCU organized the University Immersion Program 2024 during the first two weeks of July this year (https://eie.scu.edu.cn/ceeiten/International_Students/University_Immersion_Program_UIP_.htm). 16 students of the TUC visited this program this year to attend lectures and to experience live and culture in Chengdu. SCU also invites international lecturers to this program, and this year Prof. Rembe from IEI was invited to give a lecture on “Designing sensors with low measurement uncertainty”. Around 55 students participated in the one-credit course with 16 lecture hours. The students learned how to design sensors with a maximum signal-to-noise ratio and how to determine sensor uncertainty. Prof. Rembe also had the opportunity to tour student labs and learn about SCU's cutting-edge research in electrical power generation, transformation and distribution as well as robotics and automation.
